- For political reasons, I can't be the primary nameserver for my own
- group of machines. I have a secondary nameserver set up so my machines
- don't have to go off to hell and backto get nameservice. (This machine
- is listed first in the clients' resolv.conf files.)
-
- I'd like to distribute things like /etc/passwd, /etc/group, and whatnot
- through Hesiod. (It ships with the DECs -- supposedly this makes life
- easy.) However, I have no control over my primary name server. I *do*
- however have maximum control over my secondary which all my clients point
- to first.
-
- With this configuration, is it possible to run my secondary name server
- as a primary Hesiod server? If so, how? I've never run Hesiod before
- and if this is some sort of FAQ or misposted, my apologies to all concerned
- in advance. Thanks!
