  14. Hi, i was wondering, has anyone run successfully ppp
  15. over a crossed rs232 wire?
  16.  
  17. I have this setup with a SPARC ipc (SUNOS 4.1.2 ) and a
  18. 386PC, normally i used kermit as a dump terminal tool, works find here.
  19.  
  20. Now, i have setup ppp-1.1.tar.Z from cayman ( FAQ5.1.1.1 )
  21. and i got ppp.exe from merit.
  22.  
  23. I can't seem to get the connection for PPP running, the
  24. error message is unable to establish IP address, PPP aborted.
  25.  
  26. On the SUN, i can't get any other messages except this occasional
  27. ones that appears in the message file

  36. Also, i forget to mentiont that i only followed the instruction in
  37. the main directory of ppp-1.1, that is the README.sun,
  38.     i.e compile a new vmunix with ppp
  39.         make pppd and pppstats and setuid both
  40.  
  41. there is another readme in the "chat" directory which i have difficulty
  42. with, i can't find the "ppp" file that it mention in all the script file.

  45. on the 386, i use this command line
  46. ppp /c 2 /s 9600
  47. ppp /c 2 /s 9600 lincoln/pmilton
  48.  
  49. both doesn't work.

  52. Any pointers on where to start will be appreciated,
