- I am using Brixton PPP version 1.2 on a SparcStation 1+ clone with an
- Aurora Technologies 4-port sync card. I am trying to connect with
- a Cisco router at the other end (don't know anything about it, except
- that it uses an "un-numbered" interface or something like that). This
- link is for our main internet feed. On the same Sparc, I have two other
- links to similar equipment via 56K lines [to Sparcs, not to Cisco's]
- and they work fine.
-
- Here is some of the output that I get:
-
- BPOP0015 : (0) Display of object: LCP03
- (0) LCP State = Open
-
-
- BPOP0015 : (0) Display of object: IPCP03
- (0) IPCP State = Supporting LCP CLosed
- (0) Desired State = Active Open
- (0) Supporting LCP = LCP03
-
- The LCP sure looks open to me! Are there any peculiarities with Brixton
- or with Cisco? Brixton, of course, says they follow the spec closely,
- but I have heard otherwise. Reason for post: their tech support doesn't
- seem to return my calls with any frequency and the tech support at PSI
- says this is an unsupported method of connecting, but they will take
- my money anyway (which they did). I'd really rather not buy a Cisco,
- since they cost more than the whole Sparc setup did.
-
- Thanks for any help.
