- Last call for success reports on C-Kermit 5A. Well, not really the
- last, but the last to meet a publication deadline. The ones I haven't
- heard about yet include the following. Some of them are kind of
- obscure, so no big deal, but others might be so common that nobody
- bothered to report them?
-
- Please include complete computer manufacturer name, complete computer
- model, complete OS name and release, which makefile entry you used,
- and the ls -l size (stripped or unstripped). Here's the list of
- unknowns that I know about (feel free to send any other reports too --
- we can't have too many):
-
- VAX (or other?) with vanilla 4.1, 4.2, or 4.3 BSD.
- PDP-11, Perkin-Elmer, Interdata, etc, with Bell Laboratories UNIX 7th Edition
- PDP-11 with 2.4, 2.9, or 2.10 BSD (we have 2.11)
- Alliant, any model, with any release of Concentrix
- Altos 486, 586, 986 with Xenix 3.0
- Atari ST with MINIX ST 1.5.10.3
- Charles River Data Systems Universe 680x0 with UNOS
- Data General Aviion with DG/UX 4.3x
- FPS 500 with FPX 4.1
- IBM 370-series mainframes with AIX/370, any release
- IBM RT PC with ACIS (= BSD) 4.2 or 4.3
- Intel 302 with Bell Tech System V/386 R3.2
- NCR System 3000 with AT&T UNIX System V R4 2.0
- NCR Tower 32 with OS 1.x and 2.x
- NCR Tower 1632 or Minitower with System V R2
- OkiStation 7300 Series
- PCs with Consensys UNIX SV/386 R4V3
- PCs with Mt Xinu Mach386
- PCs with SCO Xenix/286 or any other 286 UNIX version
- PFU Compact A Series
- Ridge 32 with ROS
- Samsung MagicStation with System V R4
- Sequent Balance with DYNIX 3.0
- Silicon Graphics with pre-4.0 releases of IRIX
- Solbourne computers with OS/MP 4.0 and 4.1
- Suns with SunOS 3.x or earlier
- Tektronix XD88 series with UTekV OS
- Tri Star Flash Cache with Esix SVR3.2
- UNISYS 5000 with UTS V R5.2 or 5.3
-
- Also, what's this Univel I've been reading about (some kind of "cheap"
- stripped-down Novell + USL System V R4 UNIX for PCs)? Has anybody seen
- it? Has anyone tried building C-Kermit for it (perhaps impossible because
- there is no development environment)? Or running some other System V R4
- PC-based C-Kermit binary on it?
-
- Thanks!

- P.S. The list of successful UNIX compilations has about 190 entries already,
- including many new ones I had never heard of before. Will publish the list
- shortly.
