  12.  I want to thank all those who replied to my posting regarding the
  13.  setting of protection to make a file readable but leaving the
  14.  directory essentially protected.

  26.  The deal is that by setting the protection on the parent directory to
  27.  (W:E) and the protection on the file to (W:R) the file becomes world
  28.  readable while the directory is not.
