  24. The only way to do this is to either get a larger disk and do a backup
  25. from the smaller disk onto the larger which now becomes the user disk,
  26. or to combine two (or more) disks into one logical volume.  The
  27. traditional way to do this in VMS was a volume set, created with
  28. MOUNT/BIND.  A newer way which I have heard works, but I have no
  29. experience with is to set up a Stripe set with several disks.  There was
  30. recently a discussion here about the pros and cons of the two methods.

  32. I know that volume sets work, since we did that at my last job.  I'm
  33. sure that stripe sets can work also, but I'm not sure how.
