- I looked into this ~6months ago. My DECstation is ~5ft behind the chair facing
- the moniter, with the mouse/keyboard cable running across the floor. I don't
- like it. So . . .
-
- I tried a straight cable to "just extend" the mouse/keyboard cable. The
- DECstation crashed. Perhaps there is something special about the cable?
- I called DEC people all over the US (to just buy one or just get the wiring
- diagram of the cable) and the final answer "DEC doesn't recommend doing it at
- all". I did put the moniter on a standard RGB (BNC) extension cable and aside
- from lower intensity output on the moniter, it works just fine.
-
- So I've had this grossly short cable running across the floor . . . keeps me
- awake enough not to fall over it! If you find anything, please let me know!
