- I've got PMX installed on two machines and I'm having the same problem
- (or two indistinguishable problems) on each machine. The PMX server
- seems to choke after a day or so. This does not appear (but I'm not
- entirely sure) to be dependent on the amount of X usage or other
- network use - it just looks like bit-rot with time. Exiting and
- restarting PMX does not help. On a nonfunctional restart, the PMX log
- file contains the following ominous line:
-
- No sockets to listen with; nothing to do.
-
- Any ideas or cures (short of rebooting, which always works)? Just for
- giggles I tried "ifconfig lan0 down" followed by "ifconfg lan0 up" with
- no effect. My gut tells me that something is stuffing up the socket
- system over time, but I have no knowledge of what that could be or how
- to remedy the situation.
-
- My setups are as follows:
- Computers: Gateway 486/33 and 386/33
- Ethernet: 3Com 3503 with all default settings
- OS: OS/2 2.0 with SP installed
- TCP/IP: IBM TCP/IP with latest CSD installed
- NFS: IBM with latest CSD installed. The 486/33 runs both client and
- server, the 386/33 runs client only.
- PMX: IBM with latest CSD installed (hence PMX version 1.2.1.3).

- P.S. If you post a response, please email it to me also, as I'll be
- away for a bit and might miss it in the newsgroup - thanks!
