- Does anybody know why the following setup of my COM ports and Iterrupt settings doesn't work:
- IRQ Address Remarks
- COM1: 4 3F8 Currently my mouse
- COM2: 5 2F8 This is the one I'm having
- problems with.
- COM3: 3 3E8 Boca 14.4K Modem
-
- CD-ROM 2 DMA Channel 3 Mitsumi CD-ROM
-
- My main problem is COM2. Before I had it set to IRQ3, 2F8 and I believe this
- worked. Currently I only use this port to connect to my HP48SX Calculator but
- for some reason I can't get it to work. I tried COM1 for the serial cable to
- calculator connection and it worked.
-
- Then I tried to install my mouse as COM2 and use COM1 to connect to my
- calculator. But my mouse no longer worked and upon bootup OS/2 said COM3 not
- installed, Address not available.
-
- If anybody has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Should I try
- a different address for COM2? Possible choices are 3E8, 2F8, or 2E8. I don't
- want to change my COM3 becuase before PMCOMM never worked and now it does.
-
- One last question, What is a DMA Channel and how do I determine if my computer
- has any available.
