- Actually, I had been thinking along the same lines as you (not that I
- have any money to invest this way, mind you, but just wishing...).
- After all, buy low, sell high is the way to do it, right? But I
- happened to hear precisely this question (about IBM) put to an
- investment specialist on an NPR radio program today, to wit, shouldn't
- one buy IBM now that it's so low? The answer (well, maybe the
- respondent was an evil Windows owner, who knows?) was that doing so
- would be advisable for such an unstable stock (my words because I cannot
- recall the original) only if such a corporation's management were fully
- aware of the problems they are facing and the adviser in this case
- wasn't really sure that IBM's management was fully aware of their
- problems and what to do about them.

- The wording, imprecise though it may be, is accurate enough to convey
- the message. Frankly, I was surprised, but if you've got the money,
- this might be an interesting risk.
