  28. It may be the cable.  Swap with a friend and see if that helps.

  30. It may be the printer adapter.  If at all possible, try swapping that
  31. with a friend's to see if the problem clears up.

  33. In both cases, see if you can swap with a component that is of a
  34. different brand.
