- The "A" indicates the fix to the FIFO buffer. The "F" indicates "Fast"
- logic. I think it may be needed on very fast buses. You don't say what
- kind of computer you have, so I can't say if this is relevant.

- Most likely, the UART is ok. (If you have a microchannel machine, it
- most likely is not OK.) Why the software doesn't work I don't know.
