- I am also having problems getting my Trident card to work. I have
- a Trident 9000.
- The results you are describing sound very familiar to me. I was told
- however that at boot time the OS2LDR program also determines the type
- of video card you have in your system. After that a check is made to
- find out wheter or not the SVGADATA.PMI and the OS2LDR info are in
- line with each other.
-
- As you found out there are inconsistencies in the determination of
- your video card. The same happens on my system. The solution in my
- opinion must be to get the info in SVGADATA.PMI and the OS2LDR
- info in line with each other. Upto now I don't have a clue on how
- to achieve this. I would think that an update of OS2LDR and/or SVGA
- could cure this. But maybe manually changing the SVGADATA.PMI file
- could also get us around this problem.
-
- It might be possible to leave the SVGADATA.PMI indicating an IBM
- SVGA card and change the rest of the info to Trident register info.
- I thought of this after reading your mail and since I have my OS/2
- system at home I am not able to check this.
-
- Tomorrow I will send you my SVGADATA.PMI file so you can
- try to find the differences.
-
- Succes and let me hear if you find a solution because I am looking
- for it too.
