  16.     I'm sure that many of you have had the unfortunate experience
  17. of having the WPS freeze, with the mouse pointer, background downloads, 
  18. and the clock running in the background, but a dead keyboard and 
  19. mouse buttons. Crtl-Esc? HA!! No effect, or worse, the dialog box to kill
  20. the offending app, which just won't die.

  22.     The only recourse, if you're lucky, is the three fingered salute, 
  23. but usually it's red button or Ctrl-Alt-NumLock time.

  25. I have had very few problems since I stopped running a seamless Winos2 
  26. session constantly, but I did have a freeze happen the other day-I made 
  27. the mistake of opening the folder I had just unzipped the icon file from
  28. Hobbes into (why _1300_ in one file!;-)).needless to say, crash & burn...

  31.     I happened to have PSPM running, to try it out, and was able to get to 
  32. it before things hung completely, and killed pmshell. It came back up in 
  33. usable condition, albeit slowly, but I was able to get to any open apps,
  34. and exit them normally, thus saving my data.

  36.     Since this scenario will not work if the keyboard locks up, 
  37. is there a utility or driver that will recycle the WPS on demand?  I've 
  38. never had Ctrl-Alt-Numlock fail to work properly (If you can call that a 
  39. solution!!), so some sort of driver should be possible to permit the WPS 
  40. to be killed via the keyboard, even if it is "locked up".

  49. This is one I actually did get around to reporting to tech-support before the
  50. embargo, but they had no solution.
