- Hi all!!!
-
- A couple of months ago I installed OS2 with the Boot Manager.
- And I started having problems with my internal modem, it just
- wouldn't connect, or sometimes it worked and others didn't.
- After trying all out, I reformatted the whole drive but this
- time without the boot manager, and lo and behold everything
- came back to normal.
- So I forgot about OS2, but now, I have more time and after reading
- the installation guide found out about the Dual Boot feature.
- I reformatted my whole drive again, and installed DOS 5.0 and
- after that installed OS2, both in the same startable drive, ie C:
- BUT, in the installation guide says that I have to have command.com
- for the command interpreter, but I am using 4dos, but I guessed
- it wouldn't make any difference, the thing is that when I tried
- to install os2 a screen showed up telling me to change my config.sys
- to have the shell=command.com, I went on, and installed os2.
- I tried to reboot, and it doesn't work! I got the os2 loading screen,
- but after that a black screen salutes and there it dies!
- So I rebooted with floppies, and went to my root directory, changing
- my config.sys and autoexec.bat from DOS back again, now I have
- access to the machine, but the question is:
-
- Can I use the Dual Boot feature when I am using 4dos or I ought to
- have command.com as the command interpreter?????
-
- Any comments will be greatly appreciated!!!
