- I use to have this problem when I was using HPFS for my OS/2 OS
- partition. Here is what I have learned in my numerous installs of
- OS/2:
-
- put the OS in separate EXTENDED partition
- use FAT for the base system.
- have a C: partition that is a PRIMARY partition
-
- now here is what I propose to do in order to solve the above dilema:
-
- use the C: MSDOS partition to boot and tweak the system.
- (you can edit everything on your FAT OS/2 partition with
- your DOS stuff on drive C: ... also this is very fast, and
- less time consuming than an OS/2 boot partition (unless,
- of course, you would rather use an HPFS partition for your
- OS) and you can even use a floppy MSDOS diskette if need
- be.)
-
- I use to use HPFS for the main OS/2 partition, but now it is FAT. Until
- IBM can stabilize a few major things so that I dont have to reinstall an
- OS everytime I make a mistake in the config.sys statement (insert other
- deadly scenarios here ... graphic drivers come to mind) etc.

- PS. GA+SP+1024x768x256 is SLOWWWWW! ANY 16-COLOR DRIVERS AVAILABLE
- FOR 32-BIT GRAPHICS??!?? (I know I was yelling, just wanted
- someone to hear me :-) :-) )
-
- PPS. BTW, I rarely boot into DOS unless I need to fix something in
- OS/2 ... take heart, it is a good OS (OS/2, that is)
