- Win 3.1 support is due next month-ish...

- There are many books on OS/2 around. I just got my CDROM drive and the PDK
- and the 3 OS/2 programming volumes are awesome. The PM volume (II) is 31
- chapters and the first 3 take up 70 pages (I started printing and gave up
- :-) I don't think I'll ever need to buy a printed OS/2 book with this kind
- of stuff..

-
- That is the story. The .dsk files are disk images including format info,
- FAT's, the lot. You need to get them onto your hard disk and then use
- loadfdsk to create the floppies from the images. People also report success
- using 'dd' on Un*x boxes to dump the data straight to the floppies.
-
- It's a pity that OS/2 provides no support for >1.4 meg on (so-called)
- 1.4meg diskettes. With FDREAD under DOS, you can go to 82 trakcs and
- extra sectors too and get up to 1.76MB on a disk. I can't see why IBM chose
- not to include such support. We are intelligent to realise that if we use
- such disks, other people won't be able to use the disks (unless they run
- FDREAD under DOS lets say) and take care. They claim a DOS better than DOS
- but in some areas I feel they could have made it even better!
