  22.   I have and am successfully using DR-DOS 6.0 with OS/2 and the Boot
  23. Manager.  There are almost no problems.  The only major consideration is
  24. that if one uses the SuperStor dynamic disk compression which comes
  25. with DR-DOS, any and all files which are in a SuperStor partition
  26. canNOT be accessed in _any_way_ while running OS/2 2.0.  Trust me.
  27. I've tried!  Other than that (which is not really a "problem"
  28. but more the lack of availability of a "feature" <G>) there
  29. are no difficulties that I have ever had except the following two:

  31. 1: Do NOT run CHKDSK on your DR-DOS partition(s) from under OS/2.
  32.    ONLY run DR-DOS's CHKDSK and then only while under _straight_
  33.    DR-DOS.  If you accidentally _do_ do this, life is not lost, but
  34.    I am not sure of a consistently working way of recovering.
  35.    If one DOES run os2 CHKDSK on the DR-DOS partition, one should
  36.    kill it ASAP (CTRL-C), shut down and go to straight DR-DOS to
  37.    see if a DR-DOS CHKDSK will fix things.  The symptoms which afflict
  38.    the os2 session before shutdown is that it fails to correctly
  39.    read the affected partition(s) giving a lot of "garbage" when
  40.    a DIR command is executed, etc.
  41.    NOTE: I think that this also applies to other (i.e. MS/PC DOSs).

  43. 2: I think when I originally partitioned and formatted my drive for
  44.    Boot Man. DR-DOS 6.0, and OS/2 2.0 I had to do the following
  45.    so I could install DR-DOS and have it "visible" from os2:
  46.  
  47.   a. make all the partitions from os2 disk #1 during os2 install.
  48.      These included those mentioned above in 2.
  49.  
  50.   b. format the DR-DOS partition from os2?? or from os2 then from
  51.      DR-DOS (sorry I don't remember exactly as I tried a few combo's <G>),
  52.      maybe even just from DR-DOS.  If the wrong method was chosen either
  53.      I couldn't install DR-DOS or I couldn't use the DR-DOS partition
  54.      from within os2.
