- Consensus on this problem is that you are running the GA with some of the
- patches. This happened to me when I first installed the SP. On
- reinstallation, this problem disappeared.

- Now, I recently reformatted my HD, installed the GA, and then immediately
- installed the SP. No problems.

- I think you should back up your HD and reformat. I know it's a pain, but
- if you have anything anomalous that the SP installation does not write
- over, the reformat should eliminate it. So, after reformatting, reinstall
- the GA, and then immediately install the SP. Also, write protect disk 12
- of the SP as a precaution.
