- No, It's PM, but it's pretty quick. Also...NO 550 file per window limitation.

- Pretty much the same keys and pulldown menus, but overall a loss of
- functionality. To name a view:
-
- 1) Lack of various file viewers. Text and Hex are only supported in
- this release. Who knows what else they are planning.
-
- 2) No "extension" file. You can't (with NC) associate all .ZIP files
- with a particular command, for example.
-
- 3) No ability to specify OS/2 command shell you wish to use. I use 4os2
- but NC, when starting a shell, starts CMD.EXE. I even have the
- correct environment variables set in my CONFIG.SYS. Go figure.
-
- 4) No MCI Mail...but that didn't matter to me...so...
-
- 5) No ability to set up an exernal file viewer, either. This would
- be nice, but isn't in the DOS version either. I just don't like
- the internal viewer as much as, for example, LISTOS2. This
- could be handled by bringing in the extension file stuff.
-
- The nice thing is, it can be configured to look more like the Desktop for
- DOS product (although, I prefer the Commander look and feel). Also, it
- is MUCH faster than the WPS drives stuff. And I do mean MUCH faster.
- I think it's worth it for that alone, if you like viewing your files/dirs
- in a list and using it for copying, moving and just "seeing" your stuff.
-
- Overall, it's not as usefull as the DOS version is, but it has some potential.
- If the put in some of the above, I'll be happy.
-
- The Menu program is nice, but I have so many icons on the WPS desktop, it's
- only marginally useful (to me). I didn't use that feature on the DOS version,
- either. I haven't tried the drag and drop stuff yet. Haven't had a need
- for it.
-
- Hope this helps.
