  27.        There's definitely a good Mahjong game that was on Hobbes.  It should
  28.    still be there.  You'll have to prowl to find it, since I can only have one
  29.    session active right now, calling in from home.

  36. I would like to take this opportunity and thank all those who have
  37. answered. I have actually found three mahjongg games.

  39. A Ms-Dos version which runs in full screen and in windowed mode. It
  40. requires a 640x480X16. When windowed its is unberably slllllooooowwwww
  41. ... to the point of making the game unusable in this mode and
  42. switching to full screen mode is such a traumatic experience that it
  43. causes my brain to reboot...

  45. I don't want to lay the blame on the game. It may be Os/2's fault. I
  46. am running the 8415/A driver in 1024x768 mode with an ATI Ultra under
  47. GA+SP.

  50. Anyway, the second game was found in the pub/os2/all/games directory.
  51. It was disapointing. I should say that the Dos game is very well done
  52. and if it was to run under Os/2 correctly I would register it.

  54. A second attempt proved more successful. I found mahjongg.zip in
  55. rusmv1.rus.uni-stuttgart.de in the source/os2/Demo/Games (case maters)
  56. directory. It is a substantially better game that the mj-11.zoo (or
  57. something similar) found on Hobbes. I should point out that both these
  58. games are free. Thanks to both authors for their time and effort !

  60. The mahjongg.zip though has a drawback though. It is optimized for the
  61. 8415/A driver and will probably look shaby under other drivers. You
  62. should give it a try though.
