  12. I'm not sure if this is the correct newsgroup to post, but I can't seem
  13. to install Windows/NT beta (October 1992 release).

  15. I had to use the WINNT method of installation (as I don't have a SCSI/CDROM
  16. combination that is supported), and it hangs when it shows
  17. `Examining disk configuration' on the screen. At that moment, the floppy
  18. drive keeps spinning, without moving its heads.

  20. First the hardware:
  21. - 486DX50 with 32Mb RAM
  22. - AMI BIOS dated 070791
  23. - IDE/floppy controller with 2*200Mb IDE drives and 1.44Mb/1.2Mb Fd drives
  24. - Nec T128 SCSI adapter with NEC CDR84 CD-ROM drive
  25. - Tseng ET4000 SVGA with 1Mb
  26. - Soundblaster Pro 2
  27. - NE2000 ethernet card
  28. - Multi-I/O card (LPT1/COM1/COM2)
  29. - Fax card (COM4)

  31. Then the software:
  32. - Hard-disk 1 contains two partitions:
  33.   - 1Mb BootManager
  34.   - 199Mb OS/2 HPFS (bootable OS/2 2.0)
  35. - Hard-disk 2 contains one partition:
  36.   - 200Mb DOS FAT (bootable MS-DOS 5.0)

  38. When running under DOS, I have the following drive configurations:
  39.   C: 200 Mb FAT
  40.   D: 2 Mb RAM disk
  41.   E: CD-ROM drive
  42.  
  43. When running under OS/2, I have the following drive configuration:
  44.   C: 199Mb HPFS
  45.   D: 200Mb FAT

  48. How can I install Windows/NT on this system?
