- I'm not sure if this is the correct newsgroup to post, but I can't seem
- to install Windows/NT beta (October 1992 release).
-
- I had to use the WINNT method of installation (as I don't have a SCSI/CDROM
- combination that is supported), and it hangs when it shows
- `Examining disk configuration' on the screen. At that moment, the floppy
- drive keeps spinning, without moving its heads.
-
- First the hardware:
- - 486DX50 with 32Mb RAM
- - AMI BIOS dated 070791
- - IDE/floppy controller with 2*200Mb IDE drives and 1.44Mb/1.2Mb Fd drives
- - Nec T128 SCSI adapter with NEC CDR84 CD-ROM drive
- - Tseng ET4000 SVGA with 1Mb
- - Soundblaster Pro 2
- - NE2000 ethernet card
- - Multi-I/O card (LPT1/COM1/COM2)
- - Fax card (COM4)
-
- Then the software:
- - Hard-disk 1 contains two partitions:
- - 1Mb BootManager
- - 199Mb OS/2 HPFS (bootable OS/2 2.0)
- - Hard-disk 2 contains one partition:
- - 200Mb DOS FAT (bootable MS-DOS 5.0)
-
- When running under DOS, I have the following drive configurations:
- C: 200 Mb FAT
- D: 2 Mb RAM disk
- E: CD-ROM drive
-
- When running under OS/2, I have the following drive configuration:
- C: 199Mb HPFS
- D: 200Mb FAT
-
-
- How can I install Windows/NT on this system?
