  10. After installing "IBM - Standard VGA", it's possible
  11. to run DOS-Applications, but before, say "x-program"
  12. runs, the following messagebox appears:

  14.    An Installation file required by NTVDM is missing,
  15.    execution must terminate.
  16.    sys.spccmosram
  17.  
  18.    This may cause (x-program) to function incorrectly.
  19.    Continue running or terminate the application
  20.  
  21.    CONTINUE     TERMINATE

  23. After choosing CONTINUE (most) DOS-Apps seem to run.
  24.  
  25. But when starting a win16-Application, the same messagebox
  26. appears (where "x-program" is replaced by "16-bit Windows-
  27. Application"). But when clicking on CONTINUE, the application
  28. seems to work for some moments, no window appears and then 
  29. I'm back in Program-Manager (or CMD-Prompt).

  31. I made a Express installation and there's no file
  32. called "sys.spccmosram" at all. But there can't be:
  33. since no FAT-Filename can be 3 Characters plus 10 Characters
  34. Extension!

  36. Has anybody got an idea, what sys.spccmosram could mean?

  38. BTW: The Message comes (in case of a DOS-APP) from the
  39. "16-Bit DOS-Subssystem" or (in case of a win16-APP) from the
  40. "16-Bit Windows-Subsystem".
