- Today, I installed the October Beta on a 486/33 with 16 MB RAM
- and a 21 MB Swapfile.
- Since I depend on my computer, I installed flexboot, in order to
- "work" with Windows 3.1 and "test" Windows NT.
-
- There were no problems during installation.
- When booting DOS, there are no problems with DOS and
- Windows programs. The (old Logitech serial) mouse and the
- modem work at the same time.
-
- But, (only) on the NT-Side there are some problems:
-
- 1) Either - the mousecursor won't appear at all, but the
- modem works ok.
- Or - the mousecursor appears, but I can't control him
- with my mouse, (Fast nervous movements, clicks that I didnt do etc.)
- and the modem doesnt work.
- For this problem, you might think "IRQ-sharing...."
- but: on the DOS/windows-Side, it works ok.
- and: I threw out the SCSI-Adapter, the Modem, and
- THE MOUSE STILL WONT WORK PROPERLY IN NT!
-
- Any suggestions, are there older Logitech mice, that aren't supported
- by the NT - LOGITECH-Serial-Driver?
-
- 2) The second problem is even worse:
-
- after having booted NT, I cant start ANY DOS or Windows 3.1-
- program. (not even QEDIT.EXE and WRITE.EXE)
- when trying to run a Dos-Program in the "MSDOS-Prompt"
-
- _runtime error R6003__ integer divide by 0__
-
- appears. Why ?????
-
- When starting a windows-application, the harddisk begins to
- spin. And then nothing happens.
-
- Why
-
- Any suggestions are welcome -
- please email to MSIEBER@BETA.UNISG.CH
- or reply here
-
- Thanks
