  12. OK...This is a VERY strange one.

  14. I've been running Windows 3.1 for a long time, generally with no problems.
  15. I use Stacker, 4DOS/NDOS, all flawlessly...until now.
  16.  
  17. Suddenly, the other day, when I tried to pop up a DOS program from
  18. within windows, I get the dreaded white box, and it says:

  20.         System Error
  21.             Cannot Read Drive C:
  22.              CANCEL     RETRY
  23.  
  24. RETRY gets me nowhere.  CANCEL after a few tries, gets rid of the box.

  26. Then the DOS program runs FLAWLESSLY!  No errors.  No problems.  No
  27. Crashes.

  29. Then, when I quit the program...same routine.  Cancel gets rid of the
  30. box and it's like nothing ever went wrong.

  32. I have noticed no other problems...under Windows or straight DOS.

  34. What's going on here?  Granted, there are worse problems, but this is
  35. ANNOYING.  Could I have possibly deleted something?  Changed an INI
  36. setting?  What's up?
