- OK...This is a VERY strange one.
-
- I've been running Windows 3.1 for a long time, generally with no problems.
- I use Stacker, 4DOS/NDOS, all flawlessly...until now.
-
- Suddenly, the other day, when I tried to pop up a DOS program from
- within windows, I get the dreaded white box, and it says:
-
- System Error
- Cannot Read Drive C:
- CANCEL RETRY
-
- RETRY gets me nowhere. CANCEL after a few tries, gets rid of the box.
-
- Then the DOS program runs FLAWLESSLY! No errors. No problems. No
- Crashes.
-
- Then, when I quit the program...same routine. Cancel gets rid of the
- box and it's like nothing ever went wrong.
-
- I have noticed no other problems...under Windows or straight DOS.
-
- What's going on here? Granted, there are worse problems, but this is
- ANNOYING. Could I have possibly deleted something? Changed an INI
- setting? What's up?
-
- I would appreciate any help you can give me.
-
- Thanks in advance...
