- I'm sorry if this bothers anyone,
- if it does please tell me where I should post things like this...
- It is not a window's question but....
-
-
- I've only owned my compatible for a few months...
- My friend told me that I should leave the computer running
- instead of turning it on each time I want to use it. This is
- probably between 1 to 10 times a day. I've been leaving it on
- from the first time I turn it on in the day, until I finsih
- using it before I go to bed. This means it is on everyday from
- morning/early afternoon to late at night. I know what you are thinking,
- I do shut the monitor, I guess I should have said that first.
-
- He told me the reason is to save wear and tear on the computer,
- and hard drive.
-
- Please tell me if you agree with this "leave it on" practice or not.
- Also, if there is other reasons other than mentioned in the previous
- paragraph, I'd like to know.
-
- Also, does leaving on the cpu use much energy. Being semi-environmentally
- concious, I'd hate to think that (gasp) I'm wasting an obscene amount
- of energy, (as well as paying for it).
-
- While I already asked all these questions, one more: Should I quit win3.1 when
- I leave the comp. on for a while (I can't see why, but thought I'd ask
- to be safe)?
