- Having exhausted my resources, I am in need of some help in
- determining the source of errors I encounter in windows 3.1.
- Randomly windows will report that a general protection fault
- in module xxxxxxxx.xxx occured at xxxx:xxxx. The exact text
- for the x's here varies with just about every app I have.
- Most commonly progman, user.exe, drwatson.exe, and coreldrw.exe.
- Also the message Waldo caused a segment load failure and or
- general protection fault are seen as well. Sometimes, windows
- will begin to load then revert back to Dos. All my dos apps
- work just fine. I have loaded my Win 3.1 again and also tried
- using another copy just to rule that out. No luck. Have tried
- every known variation of autoexec and config.sys with know help
- either. The machine this mess is running on is a 386-33 w/4meg.
- Ami bios of may 1992 vintage. It has an Intel 386 chip and the
- rest is opti chip set. Memory checks out fine as does the hd.
- Has anyone out there seen a mess like this before? Your kind
- assistance greatly appreciated.
