- Part of this is the different tax systems. In the US taxes are paid as
- corporate income taxes when the product is made. The VAT is added when the
- product is sold. This means that software from the US is taxed twice.
- Software from Europe sold in the US is not taxed as much. The VAT is refunded
- and no income tax is paid. This is one reason that we have a problem with
- import goods in the US. Import goods have an unfair tax advantage.
