  17. My coworker had the same problem with a 2MB system. I had the same
  18. problem with a 4MB system, although I have to say less frequently
  19. than she did on the 2MB system. We both have 386-20s with standard
  20. VGA monitor, and running Windows in standard mode (386-enhanced mode
  21. is not at all stable on these machines, I think due to an incompatibility
  22. with 1989 AMI BIOS, but that's a whole other problem...)

  35. Consider yourself lucky; the only thing that would work for me is
  36. Control-Alt-Delete. I couldn't kill them from the Task Manager.

  38. I've called Microsoft on this several times (and so did my coworker),
  39. but to no avail. The only problem they knew about (I can't remember
  40. the details) had no connection to this problem.

  42. I'd love to know the answer as well. Anyone from Microsoft read this
  43. newsgroup?
