- Larry,

- QEMM is a program which streamlines the management of EMS and XMS as well
- as the High Memory Area (HMA). It is easier to use than DOS 5.0's
- EMM386.EXE, but it achieves a similar result. No program can break the
- 640k barrier in DOS. DOS is inherently a 640k provider. OS/2 in native
- mode is an example of a OS that breaks that barrier (although when you
- start a DOS session, you are still limited to conventional RAM). If
- you have a 386 faster than 20MHz, I would recommend looking into using
- EMM386.EXE (+HIMEM.SYS) or QEMM if you have the money. I find QEMM very
- worthwhile, but it is difficult to tweak it for maximum memory and
- performance.
