- I've just solved a problem I've had with my mouse for a few weeks. Has anyone
- else suffered from the same problem?
-
-
- SYMPTOM:
- After using the PC for 8 hours or so from 9 AM, the mouse would fail
- at about 5:30 PM in the evening. This makes working with Windows cumbersome,
- and so was a good (but very annoying) reason to stop work for the day.
-
- SOLUTION:
- The PC is located in a room with west facing windows that gets the full
- afternoon sun. In the late afternoon, the sun is at a such a low angle that
- it falls on the mouse. Its light filters through the mouse (through
- the small gap between the buttons) and falls on the optical sensors connected
- to the mouse ball. So, stand a book up on end and use the mouse in the
- book's shadow.

-
- Has anyone else had a similar problem?
