  13. Here's my problem.  I have a ramdrive installed on my system.  It occured to
  14. me today that I could run Stacker (2.0) on it to get a little more milage for
  15. my memory.  I had the Stacker install program stack the entire ramdrive.  I
  16. knew that the STACVOL.000 file would be erased every tme I powerd off, so
  17. I used ARJ to back it up on my hard drive.  No problem.  In my autoexec file
  18. I just have the file replaced and the Stacker drive mounted every time the
  19. machine boots.

  21. Here's the catch.  I use 4DOS (v. 4.01), and I use the 4DOS.INI file to tell it
  22. to use the ramdrive for it's swap files.  4DOS is initialized in my CONFIG.SYS
  23. file, but the replacing of the STACVOL file (and mounting) doesn't occur until
  24. autoexec is run.  I want to have the swap files on the stacked drive, but the
  25. only way I can see to do that is to replace and mount the drive BEFORE 4DOS
  26. is initialized -- but this is in config.sys!

  28. Is there ANY way to run external commands from my config.sys file?  There
  29. must be some utility program out there that can do this...
