- Is it possible to install the Minix-demo on a HD ?
-
- I tried (as a first step) to make a bootable floppy by mkfs it using the
- proto file described. However: the first line says "boot" and a comment
- about it beeing ignored. Is boot something that is missing from the demo ?
- The floppy I created did (of course) not boot, the computer did not
- complain about it althoug. I believed it read the bootblock and then simply
- freeze.
-
- I've got an XT-type computer (8088 at 8MHz) with a 20 MB HD divided into a
- 16-MB DOS and 4 MB for MINIX. I have been able to mount the HD for use with
- minix but I do not like to do that each and every time I boot minix.
-
- Feel free to post or email, I do not care (but others might...)
