- I have a few questions/suggestions about the .99 release (which may
- or may not have been approached yet for resolution); here goes...
-
- 1) boot off of the bootdisk created after the installation -- apparently
- the system makes comment about the vga selections, as if to prompt the
- user to select the appropriate one...but, it keeps on going (yep, i know,
- this might be fixed by reading the FAQ and issuing the appropriate rdev
- command).
-
- 2) When using 'useradd username', the command produces a line of info, and
- says that the user id has been set to /home/username -- this directory
- was not created and assigned appropriate ownership(s)!
-
- 3) sometimes trying to telnet back into the system results in a connection
- closed message. had this happen about 3~5 times.
-
- 4) I was not able to run elm as a non-root user. got a message back from
- elm about having no password...(where's the man page, by the way??? -- not
- included/installed).
-
- 5) why, at installation time when i'm asked if i have a 486 or floating-point
- unit, isn't an appropriate link created for lm.a? (as in ln libsoft.a libm.a)
- for the non-FP situation.
-
- 6 -- why isn't there a different prompt for a non-root user? I'm getting
- confused when i see that '#' prompt and not logged in as root...
