- Linuxers,
-
- I am always amazed at what continues to pour into the Linux pool,
- at the expenses of many dedicated programmers and administrators,
- to the benefit of ourselves, and all free!
-
- However, I seem to increasingly dread reading comp.os.linux because
- of all the traffic, knowing that unless I read it continuously, I will
- have to spend a good hour or two scanning through the titles, and
- picking what looks relevant to what I'm interested in. If every one
- of us is doing the same, then there must be an easy way to fix this
- problem.
-
- Since comp.os.linux.announce is just cross-posted to comp.os.linux,
- it doesn't help to reduce the traffic. If we had comp.os.linux.xxx's
- around, it would.
-
- I'm taking a simple vote: would like it split/don't need it split.
- Then, I'm just going to post the results of the vote.
-
- To vote:
-
- mail -s YES colbert@aplcomm.jhuapl.edu to vote yes, favor a split
- mail -s NO colbert@aplcomm.jhuapl.edu to vote no, don't want split
-
- I'll post the results as they come in.
