- SUCCESS!!!!
-
- In the past day i learnt a whole lotta things about monitors and got tons of
- Xconfigs. Thanks to all the people trying to help me!
-
- Since my mbox got corrupted i cannot forward my experiences (though they are
- still poor) to the people who asked me to. The trick was just as easy as can be!
- Fiddling with the available clocks made the miracle happen! Since I was able to
- reproduce getting a stable display on another fixed-freq-monitor my assumptions
- are the following:
-
- - Cheap monitors use cheap circuits
- - Cheap circuits cannot handle high clocks
- - Cheap monitors give a still satisfying display when fed with low clocks
-
- So that`s all. No new values in Xconfig except of using a lower clock. I now got
- 800x600 at obvious 56Hz (no flicker appearing) at a clock of 20(!!) MHz.
-
- Hope this helps some other poor guys like me...
