- %tar cf - /etc | dd of=/dev/st0 (/etc is about 750K)
- I/O error
- 55+9 records in
- 60+0 records out
- scsi 0: unexpected interrupt
- SCSI host 0 timed out - aborting command
-
- In addition:
- - console hangs
- - ps shows dd in "uninterruptable sleep" (can't kill it!)
- - drive hangs - needs power cycle to clear it
- - sometimes screws up CMOS
-
- Questions:
- 1. How do I track down the problem? Tried #define DEBUG in both
- st.c and seagate.c but so much stuff came out that I couldn't
- tell much. Is there a better way to examine the debug printout?
- 2. Why does the console hang? That's not very friendly.
- 3. Ditto for hanging the drive.
- 4. Ditto for "uninterruptable sleep"
-
- I'm running 0.99 with inode patches.
-
- Thanks for any help,
