  23. Hey, you're making good time compared to my last compile of 0.99!
  24. I was running the 0.98.6 kernel, gcc 2.2.2d7, on a 386SX/16 w/ 2Mb RAM
  25. and a 27 Mb Linux-*Extended* partition and a 5 Mb swap partition.
  26. That compile took a total of SIXTEEN HOURS.  (Still, it might have
  27. been quicker if I hadn't been compiling stuff [LILO B.7, extfs-progs,
  28. and the latest version of poeigl] on other virtual consoles while
  29. downloading stuff through kermit5A on another...)

  36. poor little box has been doing all night.   :-)

  45. My box at home is a little nicer (386DX/25 w/ 4 Mb RAM, etc. on an ext-fs).
  46. It only took 45 minutes to compile the Linux 0.99 kernel, even while reading
  47. news and stuff on the university machine through kermit5a.
