- I'm having trouble installing Linux on my PC. I have a 486DX/33,
- 4MB of RAM, and plenty of disk space. I booted off disk a1, and
- then put in disk a2, no problem. I ran fdisk, and I created a
- hd2 partition, and an hd3 partition. I then mkfs /dev/hd2 50000,
- and mkswap /dev/hd3 10000. Finally, I did swapon /dev/hd3. I
- ran doinstall, and I chose the TINY system. The install seemed to
- go fine. I was able to see all the files mounted under /dev/hd2.
- Oh, and I DID remember to reboot between partitioning and mkfsing.
- It looked like a wonderful success, but when I tried to boot off
- my new boot disk, I had no luck. It came up, went through it's
- lp0 present, or whatever, and then BOOM! Faster than you could see,
- it started scrolling child process 001 ended with code ff00, or
- something to that effect. Anyway, the hard drive light just whirred
- as the child process xxx died with code ff00 went on into the
- thousands. I tried this with different disks, and with or without
- the swap partition. No luck. Can somebody please help me????
