- The problem is that shutdown still wipes the CMOS on some people's
- machines (including mine). It doesn't for a lot of people, but it
- still does for many. Since I don't like having to reset my CMOS
- settings all the time, I am left with syncing and powering down.

- This has been asked about a zillion times (I know), but why not
- again... Does anybody have any idea why shutdown/reboot/halt/CAD can
- wipe the CMOS settings? Does anybody think there will ever be a fix?
