- I found by experimentation that _not_ using doshell in my inittab
- fixed it (ie just start xdm directly). Depending on whether the
- inittab entry is once/wait or respawn you need the -nodaemon flag.
- Personally I use respawn with -nodaemon.

- I use Mike Jagdis' System V init and the S3 X server (0.2a and 0.3
- both work for me); the xdm I use was snarfed and compiled from the

- To the person who was complaining about poor performance: if you're
- starting xdm from your inittab with respawn you need to add the
- -nodaemon option; otherwise it will sit there and use up lots of your
- CPU trying to start loads of xdm's.
