  32. Ok, sorry for wasting bandwidth, I solved the first problem.
  33. But now there's another, if I select Linux drive from the 
  34. bootmanager, it first seams to work, but only two characters
  35. are written to the screen

  39. and nothing more, no disk access, disk light off...
  40. I still have to boot via the boot floppy, which works
  41. correctly. I compiled kernel 0.98pl5 with the correct
  42. ROOT_DEV setting (/dev/sda6 which was the error on the
  43. first try *grin*), and I used the following command
  44. (after compiling lilo) :

  46. /etc/lilo # lilo -b /dev/sda6 -i boot.b -v -v -v /vmlinux
  47.  
  48. I also tried the kernel /Image which is pl1, no change.

  50. I also read about exactly the same problem. Perhabs the one
  51. who had this problem previously solved the problem.
  52. The disktab file contains the settings that were determined
  53. using the dparam.com under msdos and partition start valued
  54. determined with fdisk, so this should be correct.
