  12. Well, I just spent 4-5 hours reading through digests from the last 3-4 days,
  13. and I must say that I agree that there is too much traffic on this group.
  14. The solution is not to split, however, but to make sure that you (we) post
  15. accordingly, X questions to c.w.x, gnu questions to the gnu newsgroup,
  16. etc.  Also, makeing sure that your posts are pertinent or neccessary
  17. helps.  (I know that this is off topic, but I do have relevant info
  18. later in this post.)

  20. Another way to save on the number of posts is to take the discussion
  21. of what is relevant to e-mail, as well as flameing via e-mail.
  22. Also, watching those follow-up to: lines.  ;)

  24. Well, enough babbling... down to business.

  26. Can you believe that I have to use DOS ONLY to use uupc?  I can't get the
  27. latest UUCP sources from sunsite to compile.  :(  I used the new ftpmail
  28. server at sunsite, but it is broken.  It sent over a hundred copies of the
  29. uuencoded sources to uucp.  My uucp feed is upset, but it would take an
  30. act of GOD or Congress to get them(ATT) to delete the spool files.
  31. (Fortunately, after five days, they will expire there.  ;))  I let uupc
  32. run for a day and a half(@2400) before I pulled the plug(ran out of disk space
  33. on a drive with 40 MB free).
  34. Anyway, from this account, the ftpmail doesn't even work. !!  ;)
  35. This is just a note for JEM@sunsite that the address ftpkeeper doesn't
  36. work.(well, I was ignored!)
  37. BTW, I am still at .98.0 with X1.1, and happy mostly!
  38. BUT, it is a shame that I have to spend so much time keeping up with Linux
  39. on the group, that I have no time left to Linux!!!
