  22. You need the S3 server.  This is available at various sites; I got my copy from
  23. robots.ox.ac.uk (or maybe it was ftp.robots.ac.uk, I can't remember).  Once
  24. you've got that, I will pre-empt some other problems you will have:

  26. 1) Uncompress all your font files
  27. 2) Run mkfontdir
  28. 3) Replace your Xconfig fontpath line with that from the supplied Xconfig.mono
  29.  
  30. This is what I did, and now have X speeding along at 1024x768 in glorious
  31. technicolour...
