  12.    I recently ran the small test suite included with the ufc-crypt
  13. package and found that it ran slower than the native crypt. For
  14. my 386/25 (no math coprocessor), this was:
  15.    crypt:  312.7 crypts/sec
  16. ufccrypt:  281.9 crypt/sec

  18.    I am wondering why this is the case? Under the Sun and RS6000,
  19. the UFC-crypt ran much faster. I'm using 0.98pl4, gcc2.2.2d on a
  20. 386/25 with no math coprocessor. Thanks,
