  11. First of all, thanks to all the people who responded to my question about 
  12. running X with 4 megs RAM!

  14. So far as I can tell, something is happening to a fair chunk of the memory 
  15. on my machine when I run under Linux. I just tried to compile NetHack, and 
  16. get out of memory errors...with a six meg swap partition active! Something 
  17. is wrong here...

  19. Is there a way that I can check how much available memory I have? The Linux 
  20. equivilent of DOS mem?

  22. Anyone have any idea on where my memory is going? I'm using the latest SLS 
  23. distribution.
