  11. Well, I just reinstalled SLS for the third time. (It gets easier with 
  12. practice!) And this time...X works! Many many thanks to the people who 
  13. mailed me Xconfigs to get me going!

  15. However, I have a slight problem... X is slower than MS Windows on an XT! It 
  16. took it about an hour to start up, mouse movements are recognized only after 
  17. a 2-3 minute wait, and it takes almost ten minutes for keystrokes to appear 
  18. in bash...

  20. Since I see a large amount of disk thrashing, I assume that there is a lot 
  21. of swapping going on. Since I have only 4 megs of RAM, and a ~6 meg swap 
  22. partition, this is not surprising. But does it have to be this slow? I had 
  23. thought that X was usable with 4 megs RAM -- was I wrong? Please say no!
