- Hmm. Well, the Minix shell behaves that way also. One of the reasons is
- that in the older Unixes, pressing ESC generated that character, and you
- had to hit CTRL-ESC to actually generate an ascii 27.

- Why? Lost in the history of Unix somewhere. What I think MWC meant was that
- it is not a bug, but a valid way for the shell to handle the ` character and
- gave an example of another system that did the same. But you talked to them,
- not I, so I won't second guess ;)
