- All of the software patents are daft. And yes, this is true.
- The exclusive-or operation applied to graphics is patented by CadTrak and
- I'd say its pretty well "expected" too. Natural-order recalc is pretty
- obvious and it is patented by Refrac Technologies in New York. The
- patent office doesn't know what it's doing and patents for software are
- screwed up. So, be amazed all you want. You should also be disgusted
- with the patent system. Hopefully, groups like the League for Programming
- Freedom will be able to elminate software patents or at least drastically
- alter the evaluation of them. There are no easy answers to software
- legal issues but I think patents are of no use to software.

- Didn't say he would. But, IBM does have a legal right to
- stop him if they so choose. Since many OS's use this, I doublt its
- a big deal to them or it is iffy and wouldn't stand up in court.
