- I contacted my local phone company (C&P) about having an ISDN line
- installed in my apartment (for the purpose of connecting to campus's
- network). I was quoted a $300 installation charge, $58 per month, plus
- $0.05 per minute. Are these rates fair (average)?
-
- We had hoped to run a nearly permanent slip connection and at $0.05/min
- that would be nearly $27,000 per year. A T1 connection would only have
- been $600/mo for 1.5mbps. The ISDN connection would have been from my
- apartment to the CO, about 3-4 miles (although there is a fiber optics
- "hut" about a mile a way). Thanks.
